Perfect Illusion, by Claudia Tan

Title: Perfect Illusion
Author: Claudia Tan
Series: Perfect Series #1

Hello readers!
This is the first review I write in English so please bear with me 😅
I love reading in English because I think some hints just get lost during the translation process.
Perfect Illusion is the first book of the Perfect Series you can find on Wattpad.

Our love is complicated and messy.
It’s raw and it’s beautiful
and it consumes every inch of me
and hopefully you.

The story about Alexandria and Daniel is sparkly and funny.
Daniel is a multimillionaire’s son. The classic daddy’s boy… arrogant, cocky, insufferable.
Alex works at an exclusive restaurant when she meets him. Indeed, Daniel reserves a table for two every Saturday night.
What’s wrong with him having a nice dinner with someone, you may wonder? Nothing, if it wasn’t for the fact that he takes out a different girl each time!
And every Sunday the poor woman walks out of his apartment, just across the street from the restaurant, raging and crying.

She is both my damnation and my salvation.
She ruined me for anyone else.

After a while, Alex can’t take it anymore and decides to sabotage Daniel’s dates. But when he finds out she’s the one behind every slap or kick in the balls they fight, and she loses her job. Everything could go back to normal if only they wouldn’t attend the same college and their parents wouldn’t orchestrate an arranged marriage between the two.
You can imagine what’s going to happen… they’ll have to live under the same roof and pretend to be deeply in love when, in fact, they hate each other’s gut.

We may have our ups and downs, highs and lows,
but I know that we can battle our way through every obstacle because his heart is mine and my heart is his
and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

These are the perfect ingredients for a cheeky humour novel that will make you laugh but also tug at your heartstrings. It’s an easy and quick reading (I read it in only two days) but it has what it takes to be a good book. I highly recommend it!
